Establishing Professional Contacts!

When it comes to establilshing professional contacts I chose to email the business NAEYC in order to establish a connection. I have sent two emails so far, but I have not received a response. I am hoping I will receive a email or some type of connection soon in order to begin learning information about education outseide of the United States.

For the second part of the assignment I chose to read about the Childs Defense Fund, which helps to raise money and ensure that every child gets the opportunity to a healthy start in their lives. I found this to be interesting because I work in a school where a lot of the children come from a poversty stricken family. It is sad to say but a lot of the kids dont have school supplies, do not live with their parents, and some of their main food sources come from the school system. I am interested in learning how to provide a brighter future for them.

  1. It looks like we have chose similar resources for both steps. What countries did you choose through the NAEYC website? I chose Africa and thus far have not heard anything back from any of the emails I have sent. I have an international calling card thanks to my Army husband so I am thinking about giving them a call to try and establish communication that way. I also chose the Children's Defense Fund because of previous experience with them. I enjoy reading their monthly enewsletters and am excited that they are holding a conference within a drives distance of me. I am strongly thinking about attending!

  2. Stephanie,
NAEYC's website is a great resource. The organization has really set high standards for early childhood education for many years. It seems like most of us are having difficulty getting results on the emails we sent. I think it would be an interesting way to learn about our field all over the world. I hope we all get a reply at some point.
